 Baylen Levine is an American entrepreneur and business executive. He is the founder and CEO of the e-commerce company The RealReal, an online marketplace for consignment of luxury goods.

Levine grew up in Florida and developed an interest in fashion from a young age. After graduating from the University of Miami, he moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in technology. Prior to founding The RealReal, Levine held several product and business development roles in Silicon Valley. He worked at Google and Facebook, where he helped build out new commerce initiatives.

In 2011, Levine identified an opportunity to build an online marketplace focused on reselling luxury branded goods. Up until that point, the luxury resale market had predominantly been handled through networks of local consignment shops. Levine believed he could leverage technology and e-commerce to make the process of consigning and selling previously owned luxury items much more efficient and accessible.

With this vision, Levine launched The RealReal in 2011. The company operates an online marketplace where authenticated pre-owned luxury items in categories like fashion, fine jewelry and art can be listed, bought and sold. Utilizing a team of experts to verify authenticity, The RealReal provides consignors with electronic payment and handles all aspects of merchandising, photography and shipping for items. This convenience transformed the previously fragmented resale market.

Under Levine's leadership, The RealReal has grown rapidly📈. It now employs over 2,500 people and has authentication centers across the United States and in Melbourne, Australia. In 2019, the company raised $300 million in a successful IPO on the NASDAQ stock exchange. Through cutting-edge technology and a strong focus on its customer experience, The RealReal has become the leading online platform for reselling luxury goods.

Levine also actively champions sustainability within the fashion industry. By extending the lifecycle of luxury items, The RealReal diverts tons of materials from landfills each year while making previously loved designer pieces accessible to new customers.
